Jesus ends his sermon on the plain with the parables of the two trees and the two builders. These parables show us that Jesus is seeking followers that have transformed hearts that lead to transformed lives. Jesus cares most about what is in our hearts.
The attitude of our hearts will influence our words, actions, and behaviours.
Our obedience to God is not done in our own strength, but out of a deep love for Jesus. We need to look what is in our hearts and cultivate our relationship with Jesus so that we will align our loves and walk in his ways. We need to examine our foundation and put in the work to build a solid relationship with Jesus so that when the storms come, we will be secure and unshaken in our faith.
