Author Lewis Smedes once wrote, “Waiting is our destiny. As creatures who cannot by themselves bring about what they hope for; we wait in the darkness for a flame we cannot light. We wait in fear for a happy ending that we cannot write. We wait for a 'not yet' that feels like a 'not ever.”
This truth certainly rings true regarding a re-opening of our Yorkson campus. We have been waiting for 18 months for the green light from the Township to allow school rentals again. Well, late last week we finally got the green light with one MAJOR caveat: gyms cannot be rented. And because it would be tough to fit 225 people into a classroom, we continue to wait.
So what does this mean for Yorkson? A few thoughts:
As we continue to search, in the meantime we are gathering as one church at our Walnut Grove campus. Please join us there! Services are at 9 and 11am, and there are Yorkson folk at both. Come and connect with each other and with God. You will be glad you did.
Lastly, as we desire deeper community with each other, stay tuned for some onramps that will be introduced to help us get better connected and share life on life, which is vital to our apprenticing to Jesus.
Hope to see you soon, and never be afraid to reach out with any needs you have!
For the fame of Jesus,
Jeff
