Here at NLCC, we believe baptism is the experience of receiving the Holy Spirit, evident in a changed life (faith, motivations, desires, and character). Baptism by immersion is something a believer requests as a visible sign of the inward change that the Spirit has worked. It signifies the death of the old life and the birth of the new. Baptism is a public witness to a believer’s intention to belong to a local congregation in being a people apprenticed to the life of Jesus.
