The Parable of the Sower

Jesus reveals the reality of our heart's receptivity to his message in His Parable of the Sower.  Jesus is clear that the message He has come to bring (about the Kingdom of God) has a very mixed reception among people.  Some hearts are hard, some have no roots, and some are choked my life’s worries and pleasures.  But Jesus also describes a 4th option- a good soil.  A heart that listens and responds to Jesus' teachings.  As we begin a new year may our prayer be that the Holy Spirit would come and till the soil of our heart so that we might receive the fullness of His Kingdom.
