The Empty RSVP

Jesus seems to enjoy meals and stories, and here he gives a story about a meal. The
Kingdom of God, he implies, is like a wonderful banquet to which you’ve been invited.
Much more important than responding to the invitation, however, is actually showing up
to the meal when the time comes. As we hear this invitation, do we simply RSVP and
move on with no intention of attending, or do we hold space for the Kingdom of God?
