Compassion, Fatigue, and Retreat

In the midst of intense demands on his compassion and energy, Jesus withdrew to solitary places, where he nurtured his identity in God, attended to his inner life, and regained his focus for ministry. His pattern of retreat is an important example for us to follow in a demanding and sometimes draining pandemic.
