I'm Claire, the Communications Coordinator here at NLCC!
Alternate titles might be resident graphic designer/illustrator, official social media trawler, and front office conversation chime-inner! (And if you've ever wondered who crafts those gorgeous and informative newsletter emails you get every month, I'm your gal.) My favourite part of my job is coming up with new "brands" for different events and ministries across our campuses, and using art and design to bring life and colour to the visuals at our church. I love finding ways to bring traditional art into my work here, and I think that the creative arts are such a wonderful way to connect on a heart level with our own Creator.
You can also find me leading worship at Walnut Grove Alpha and at Yorkson, as well as hanging out with my awesome group of Grade 12 Youth students.
Away from NLCC, I'm also an art and design instructor at a local private art studio, a dedicated cat mom (Hi Hugo and Moka!) and am always planning and looking forward to my next travel adventure. Some of my recent favourite destinations have included Ireland, Scotland, and Arizona. I'm a collector of mugs and sweaters, so naturally I'm a big fan of cooler weather, and am at my most content on a crisp-but-sunny Fall or early Spring day.
In my time as a student at UFV, I studied French, Linguistics, International Development, Visual Arts and Graphic Design. Some may say "Wow, the perfect storm for a Communications Coordinator". Others may say "What a weird combination". I say, "Why not both?".
