As Communications Director, most of my time is spent creating images and slides, filming and editing videos, as well as managing the church website (which you so happen to be on at this very moment). I get to work with every staff member and ministry in the church at different times, so my job stays fresh and interesting all the time. I am always striving to be more efficient, creative, and engaging in how we communicate our big-picture vision as a church and the tiny details of each ministry event we promote.
I truly love my job. I have been on staff since the fall of 2017, and my wife and I have been attending NLCC since early 2015. Speaking of my wife, Barbara Jean and I have been married since 2012, and spend our time playing music together, watching our favourite TV shows, and strategizing with our friends around our favourite board games.
You can catch me quoting Community, SNL, Only Murders in the Building, or Brooklynn Nine-Nine when I'm trying to be funny; or in the midst of a heightened debate over what true sci-fi is (In my opinion it would be anything to do with Star Trek [NextGen], Dr. Who [Tenth all the way!], or movies like Moon, Arrival, or Blade Runner). Any movie or TV show that is super weird or cerebral I'll probably be into.
Music is something that is playing constantly while I'm working. Lately, my Spotify playlists have been full of Donovan Woods, Colin Stetson, Lizzy McAlpine, IDLES, and Williams Prince (to name a few).
And what are some board games I love? (I'm sure you've been wondering since I mentioned them earlier): Wingspan, Raiders of the North Sea, Ark Nova, The Crew, and Gloomhaven (to name a few).
