I have the privilege of partnering with parents to disciple the youngest members of our community--through parent resourcing; family-faith-building events; and regular Sunday programming.
Just like motherhood, ministry requires me to wear a lot of hats and no two weeks ever look the same. You might catch me decorating classes, scheduling volunteers, writing (what I hope are) encouraging emails, curating curriculum, onboarding volunteers or grabbing a tea with a parent. Whilst I enjoy administration, planning and organizing, what brings me the greatest joy is getting to be present when all the hard work finally plays out and children get to engage in the Bible stories, crafts and worship experiences we have carefully prepared.
I joined the team in 2022, a few months after immigrating to beautiful BC from sunny South Africa with my family, but have been in full-time ministry since 2009. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to serve in several different roles--each one allowing me to develop my leadership toolkit in different ways and grow my love for God's church.
My husband Dane and I are kept busy raising our two sons, but when we have a free moment we love to relax by playing boardgames, being in nature or watching a good movie. I am the extrovert in the home so I think all activities are made better when enjoyed with friends!
I love music--my day often has a soundtrack and I'm known to randomly burst into song when anyone says something that sounds like a lyric I know. I'm also known for my strong dislike of coffee and mayonnaise... I make no apologies. Many have tried to convert me and failed.
