Born in Barbados in the early 60s, I am the middle of three children. My family immigrated to the USA when I was eight years old, where we lived for the next five and a half years before immigrating to Canada in 1975. I met my wife, Joy, during undergraduate studies at Anderson University in Indiana, USA, and were married in the Cayman Islands in 1988, where I worked for the Government for 14 years. In May 2022, I completed 18 years of employment with BC Housing, and retired at the end of June. We have two daughters and two grandchildren. Joy and I have attended NLCC since November 2016.
I encountered the love and life of Jesus growing up in a Christian home and regularly attending church events from birth as a pastor’s kid. During the summer of 1971, I made a public confession of my faith and was baptized in August of that year, at the age of 10. Wherever I have lived I have always attended and served in an evangelical church.
My involvement in church has included being a youth leader, being on a provincial youth executive, teaching Sunday School classes, being on a church board, being a church Elder, leading life group, prison ministry, and prayer ministry. I love God and I love His church. As an imperfect part of God’s church, it is my desire by the Grace of God to put Him first in all areas of my life and remain faithful to Him until death. My prayer is “that he who began a good work in [me] will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” [Phil 1:6 NIV].
